Marrying the Master (Club Volare #4) by Chloe Cox

Pinned Image

Book Description:
~~ Special launch price of 0.99c because I love you guys! ~~

MARRYING THE MASTER is an emotional, erotic romance about getting the one you've always wanted. It contains mature themes and content perfect for fans of the Crossfire series and Fifty Shades of Grey, and at least one thing you should *not* try yourself without warning the local police department first...

A man she's loved for years.

A marriage of necessity.

An impossible situation.

Lola Theroux wanted Roman Casta the moment she saw him. She knows she isn't special in that regard--every woman wants Roman Casta the moment she sees him. But Lola is the only one who knows why Roman doesn't do relationships, and she knows that he'll never see her as anything other than his best friend's little cousin--he'll always be her protector, never her lover. Even after five years of working together running New York's exclusive Club Volare, she's never caught his eye, and never had a chance to show him her submissive side.

Until a campaigning politician targets Club Volare, and the only way to save the club is to get married--to Roman.

Now they'll have to fool the public, the press, and their friends into thinking they're in love and in lust. For Lola, that isn't the hard part. The hard part is pretending to be Roman's sub without falling for a man she knows she can't have.

Until one night changes everything...

MARRYING THE MASTER is fourth in the Club Volare series, though it can be read as a standalone. It's approximately 70,000 words of, ahem, very mature subject matter and searing romance. Not for the faint of heart.

MARRYING THE MASTER

Book Review:
As the description says this is part of a series but can be read as a standalone book. I thought this story was fantastic. Club Volare is a BDSM club and it's membership is a secret. Of course some snobby politician thought he would make a name for himself and try to shut down the club. The one way they could save it is for the club manager, Lola and the majority owner, Roman to get married.

Now I know you've probably read books that the main m/f characters are secretly in love with one another. Ok...well same instance here however there's a twist. Roman has serious issues. He's a widower and blames his wife's death on his lack of protection. Therefore he won't commit himself to any woman because they just can't compare to his deceased wife...until Lola.

Every D/s book I've read "protection" is a huge deal with the Dom. It's like the man is midevil or something about protecting his woman. I think it's endearing but holy cow can Roman go overboard about not being able to protect his woman. I felt like saying...dude it's the 21st Century...she can take care of herself...and has been for a long time now. (rolling eyes)

It's great to see that a submissive can take on her Dom when he's being unreasonable and Lola does just that. Roman looses the one person that can change his life and now has to scramble to make things right with Lola. The question is will his plan work or is it too late???

I rated this story 5/5. It's a great read. Check it out. :-)

Book Description:
Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.

Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

Book Review:
This book reminds me of the move The Princess Diaries starring Anne Hathaway.  It was one of my favorite movies when it released it's sequel too.  This story starts at a college in the US of a girl (Samantha) who's working on her Masters Degree and taking care of her sick father.  One day as she's trying to get into the University library she runs into a crowd that's gathered for a Prince and a Duchess from a country she's barely heard of and she can not get into to do her research.

Fast forward a bit Samantha is asked to have dinner with the Duchess.  Sam thinks the dinner is about the observatory she works in for the University and the Duchess wanting to donate money toward the program or that she may have questions about the program.  Joining Duchess Rose for dinner has Samantha finding out she's a Duchess herself through her mothers family line.

I love royalty stories like this.  I've always had a fairy tale that one day I'd wake up and someone would be there to tell me I've inherited some silly title because I was next in line to receive it through my ancestral background.  No such luck...but like I said it's a fairy tale.

I think the author did a great job with this challenging story.  One day you're American and the next you're the inheritor to millions of dollars, lots of land, a title, and have the hots for the Crown Prince.  Wow!  What a life change.  Talk about stress.  And I didn't even mention language barriers, wardrobe changes, political responsibility, and a dying father to boot!

The exchanges between Samantha and the Crown Prince are sweet, endearing, and will have you swooning for your own Prince!

I think this book is a 5/5 and definitely recommend it to you.

If You Stay by Courtney Cole

Pinned Image

Book Description:
Twenty-four-year-old Pax Tate is an asshole. Seriously. He's a tattooed, rock-hard bad boy with a tough attitude to match. His mother died when Pax was seven, leaving a hole in his heart filled with an intense guilt that he doesn't understand. What he does know is that he and his dad were left alone, and they have never been close. Now, he uses drugs and women to cope with the black void in his soul. He pretends that the emptiness isn't there and this has always worked . . . until he meets Mila.

Sweet, beautiful Mila Hill is the fresh air that Pax has never known in his life. He doesn't know how to not hurt her¿but he quickly realizes that he'd better figure it out because he needs her to breathe. When the memories of his mother's death resurface to haunt Pax, Mila is there to save him from his overwhelming guilt. Mila restores his broken heart, even as she evokes his powerful, sexual desires. Now for Pax to keep Mila, he needs to work on his issues and stop being an asshole. But is that enough to make her stay?

Book Review:
When I first purchased this book I thought it would be like so many of the others that have been published as of late.  I love all of those stories, but this one stands out as special to me.  I say it's special because I actually cried during this story a little, and rarely does a book make me teary eyed.

I love how the book literally starts with Pax voicing he's an asshole.  He's accepted the fact and offers no apologies for that behavior.  The opening chapter is captivating and starts the stepping stones for Mila and Pax.  She finds him passed out in his car overdosed on several drugs and calls for help.  He's out for four days in the hospital and when he wakes Mila comes in his room and her very presence makes him want to be a better person.

Ok...with that said and no spoilers Mila decides to give Pax a chance.  She's never dated a bad boy and he's never dated.  What a remarkable relationship these two build.  Pax has lots of baggage and Mila is determined to walk through it with him.  How amazing is it for your partner to walk through the most horrid moment in your life with you?  Then you shut them out.  You don't want to deal with it.  You refuse to "man up."  Would you still give yourself and your heart to the one who stepped all over you and your heart???

Will Milla and Pax survive?  Oh my goodness.  What a heart grabbing story!  It's a MUST READ.

5/5 stars

Go grab it now or add it to your TBR list for sure!  :-)

The boy whose kisses are hotter than molten lava.
The boy who offered me the key to his heart.
The boy who asked me to Homecoming in a big, sexy way.

There are so many things to look forward to.
Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY.
But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
I find out that my best friend has been keeping a secret from me.
Not that I can blame him.
I have secrets too.
But, for now, I’m going to pretend I’m just a normal girl.
I’m going to pretend he’s not still out there.
I’m going to pretend he’s not getting desperate.
I’m going to pretend I’ll never see him again.
But, I will.
And this time, I might not get away.

Book Review:
I absolutely love this series.  It is a mature young adult series and Date Me is book #3 of 6.  The setting in this book is in a private high school close to NYC.  Keaton (aka Keatie) is dating Dawson, tutoring Aiden (the God of all Hotties), best friends with Riley (Dawson's brother) and Dallas (a Senator's son).  She has the school's Queen of Mean, Whitney, out to get her because Keaton's dating Whitney's ex-boyfriend.  Again...high school...drama!

I am a HUGE fan of Aiden.  Can I just say the God of all Hotties is the young man I'd pick for Keaton.  He's good at most things except French.  He's the star soccer player and is second string on the football team.  He's romantic at heart but can't seem to tell Keaton he's over the moon about her.

So....she's dating Dawson.  He's asked her to homecoming in the most dramatic way and every guy who hasn't asked a girl to homecoming is scrounging to match Dawson's very public asking Keaton to the game/events.  He has 11 guys, including the Dean, to do a mini strip tease in their cafe each with a letter of H-O-M-E-C-O-M-I-N-G-?  Isn't that sweet?  It was very public and of course every girl in there wanted to be the receiving end of that invite!  :-)

This all sounds like normal high school drama right??  Well...there's some real life stuff thrown in there as well.  Someone's stalking Keaton, mistaking her for her mother, a famous Hollywood actress, as they look a lot alike.  He's threatening to kill her and has gotten to Keaton a couple of times but she's been lucky enough to get away.  At 17, that's pretty scary stuff to have to live through.  Always having to watch your back, can't see your family, have to wear a tracking device 24/7.  What a mess.  She handles it pretty well I think.  Better than most might.

I don't want to give too much away here...Keaton and her best guy friends take a trip to Miami w/o alerting her security team and Vincent (the stalker) grabs her in the club they're dancing in and threatens to kill the bands singer (a friend of Keaton's) if she doesn't do what he tells her.  Of course Dallas and Riley are watching and Dallas freaks and calls in his Secret Service team to get them out of the club.  Shew!  That was a close call.

Ok...so why would Keaton do a stupid thing like take a trip to Miami w/o telling her security team?  Dawson has been receiving texts from Whitney and he wants to give Whitney another chance.  Keaton gave Dawson part of her heart and she's devastated he's dumping her to go back to Queen Mean.

Once back at school from their Miami disaster, Keaton is hiding in her friends room when she gets a call from Aiden.  He's brought her a cake from dinner, since she missed, and asks her to come out to meet him.  She brings her cake in to share w/ the girls and it's declared the best cake ever.

Ok...so that's where I have to stop or Jillian will have my hide.  The best cliffhanger ends the book...and she's asked reviewers not to share the line.  I'm telling you...it's so hard not to share this with you.  It's the BEST line of this series so far!  Goodness....just read the book and you'll know!  :-D

The author, Jillian Dodd, has done a fantastic job with this story.  There's quite a few story lines to keep up with, not to mention the cliff hangers that just keep coming!  Jillian has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I look forward to reading the next 3 books in this series. 5/5 Stars!

Leo by Mia Sheridan

Pinned Image

Book Description:
** USA TODAY Bestselling Book **

Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.

When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and he moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.

Now eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job, she has friends, she's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long lost love, Leo, sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But, should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Book Review:

I don't think I personally have friends that were part of the foster care program, but if I do I'd like to say you're amazing!  I know there are people out there mooching on the system just for the money and don't give a lick about the kids.  That's a sad existence and not healthy for either the moocher or the kids. (smh)

Evie and Leo both survived the foster care program with lots of scars.  I know how abuse tears people down and their two stories was filled with abuse.  The only thing they had going for them was the love they felt for each other at such a young age.  How many people can say they found their soul mates at 11 years old?  They spent years "holding" each other up through their foster experiences until Leo gets adopted and moves across the country.

On a promise to come back for Evie when she's 18 Leo moves with his newly adopted family to California.  Eight years later a "friend" of Leo's named Jake comes into Evie's life saying Leo is dead and he was asked to come find her.  Every part of Evie is screaming for her to trust Jake and enjoy a relationship with him even though she's sealed herself away from everyone else.

I think we instinctively know who we can trust and who we can't with our deepest darkest secrets.  Not everyone is as trustworthy so when you do find someone you can confide in it's worth it!  Evie found that in Jake but was scared to trust her instincts.

What can you do when you feel the person you trust most in the world is hiding something from you?

I loved this book and I think you will too!  It gets 5 stars!

Book Review:
What can I say about the Black Dagger Brotherhood other than I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!  I was so excited Ward was writing Quinn & Blaylock, aka Blay, their own story.  As a BDB fan I feel like I'm in the Brotherhood mansion with them living as they live.  Ward has given these men their own identity their own since of self it's like they're really alive.  :-)

As you can tell from the description this story does not go without a bit of drama.  The feelings/ideas/thoughts left unsaid between Quinn and Blay are all because of assumptions, and you know what ASSuming makes you!  Now to explain a little of that so those of you who haven't read any of the BDB series will understand...Quinn and Blay have been best friends since their teenage years.  Quinn's family acted like he didn't exist so he spent tons of time with Blay at Blays'.  Blay is gay and has always loved/lusted after Quinn but Quinn hasn't returned those feelings.  As a matter of fact Blay things Quinn is straight.

Quinn helps a Chosen (similar to an angel) through her heat (extremely strong menstrual cycle eased only by sex) and she becomes pregnant.  Pregnancy is extremely dangerous to these female vampires.  They have a  hard time keeping their young and also living through their long pregnancy term.

There are lots of characters that have been added over the last few books and I had to try to remember who was who since I didn't refresh my memory prior to reading this book.  Anyway....all the new characters made this story interesting as puzzle pieces from the previous story are falling into place.

Let's see what can I say about Quinn and Blay w/o giving away what happens in this book.  They really are a perfect match and my need for them to quit with their assumptions and sit in a corner and talk it out was frustrating to say the least!  :-)  I so wanted them to hurry it up!  lol  While they're in their seperate corners eyeing each other while the other's not looking Blay's boyfriend Saxton (also Quinn's cousin) break up.  Yet, Blay doesn't inform Quinn he and Saxton are not together any longer.  I swear if he had 3/4 of this story wouldn't be necessary.  Thanks for keeping us on our toes Ms. Ward!  :-)

Needless to say this is a must read for BDB fans.  If you haven't started on the BDB series and love romance you should get started today!  Here's the link to the very first one to get you in the loop.

The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre & Giveaway

Book Description:

I screw men for money. Not literally, think phone sex operator with a 15 megapixel web cam thrown in. They tell me their deepest, darkest fantasies while paying me $6.99 a minute.

What would possess me to engage in such a business? Throw in a tortured past, 24/7 murderous thoughts, and a desire to keep the innocent people of my small town safe.

I was contained, out of the way, sex camming my way to utter obscurity until HE came along. A twisted client armed with a targets name. Annie. And in that name, everything changed.

Warning: This book contains explicit sexual references, and should not be read by anyone under the age of 18.

Book Review:

When I first started reading this book I thought it was extremely twisted.  I know there are variations of kink...truly I do.  What I find hard to wrap my head around is someone getting off on murder.  *shudder*

As I got into the book it was easy to see how DeAnna grew into her blood thirst.  She's completely isolated herself from the public.  She has everything delivered via UPS and is very familiar w/ her delivery man Jeremy.  There comes a day when Jeremy enters her apartment because DeAnna doesn't answer his delivery call and she's never done that.  He enters and finds her camming.  She tries to draw blood and get his box cutters to end him but she also feels extreme attraction to him.  She does but doesn't want to hurt him.

Excerpt:
“Something happened, and I need advice.” I grip the phone tightly and wait for the psychiatrist’s response.

“Another episode?”

“No - nothing about that.  It’s Jeremy…you know the guy who-”

“You’ve had one human interaction in three years, I know who you’re talking about.  What happened?”

“He left me a note.  Outside.  With my package.”  I read him the note, trying not to add inflections that probably don’t exist.  When I finish there is silence, silence that stretches out so long that I find myself fidgeting.

“What do you want from me, DeAnna?”

“I want you to tell me what to do!  I don’t know how to handle this shit.”

“What do you want to do?”

“I - I don’t know what I want.  I just need you to tell me what to do.”

“What was it like when you were with him?”

I stand, pacing the expanse between my two bedrooms.  Crossing the thresholds feels like moving between my two selves – sex kitten to lonely woman.  JessBendore19 to scheming murderess.  I pushed against his hard chest and then he was there, in my mouth, his tongue pressed gently against mine, and my own traitorous mouth responded, my heart rate increased, my hands moved of their own accord, to his strong arms. Shoving the blade of the box cutters deep into his skin, the blood bursting from the movement, spraying gently upon my hand.  I tasted him, greedy for everything, my hands roamed everywhere, grabbed at his shirt, hastily undoing the buttons.  If he came back, if he came inside, I could be more prepared, could succeed in my quest for death.

“DeAnna?”

I halt, trying to focus.  “I’m sorry - what was the question?”

“What was it like when you were with him?  How did you feel?”

“I wanted him.”  On me, in me, dead beneath me.

“In what way?”  Derek’s voice is so sensual, so soothing, so male.  I make a decision, moving to my pink bed, and lay back on the sheets that smell of lube and latex.

Review Cont:
DeAnna aka Jessica on her sex cam has a huge following.  She has one cammer that always asks her to dress up as a little girl and perform acts he dreams up via the webcam.  He always calls her Annie.  When a little girl named Annie makes national news as gone missing, DeAnna becomes suspicious.

She goes to Jeremy for help.  I think she's very brave to want to help this little girl.  She uses one of her clients to help her rescue Annie from her kidnapper.

Excerpt:

When there is evil in someone it grows, unattended by all and fielded by its harborer.  I knew that, I felt it, each and every day, growing stronger inside of me ‘til one day - snap - it would take over control and every logical thought process, every thought of survival and preservation would disappear, and I would be a loose cannon, fired and on my path of destruction, with nothing but my own doom ahead of me, and the demise of whoever lay in my final path.

RalphMA35 hadn’t snapped yet.  But I could see his path as clearly as I could see my own.  And it was coming.  His demented evil was growing, and I was undoubtedly fanning the flame.  I promise you, that is not my intention.  My intention is only to save her.

Review Cont:

Things in DeAnna's life change after her trip to save Annie.  A love for a man she's never thought possible given her urges and a different lifestyle all together.  If you're a lover of figuring out someone psyche this is definitely a book for you.  If it doesn't matter to you, I still highly recommend this book.  I give this book 5/5 stars!

Unraveleing by Micalea Smeltzer

Pinned Image

Book Description:

Katy Spencer’s life fell apart two years ago. Since then, she’s closed herself off. She’s a shell of the person she used to be. The only person she trusts is her best friend Rollo, but even he can’t keep the nightmares away. Then she meets Jared. He’s the first man she’s been around since the event that she’s not afraid of. He makes her heart race, not in fear, but in a fluttering that could become something meaningful.

Jared can tell that Katy is broken. He sees something in her eyes that he’s often seen reflected in his own.

Pain.

Fear.

Self-loathing.

Jared is determined to get to know her.

He wants to solve the mystery of Katy Spencer.

He will… unravel her.

NOTE: This book is the first book in a series, but each book will follow different characters and be able to be read as a standalone, with no cliffhangers.
This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance and some content might not be suitable for younger readers.

 Book Review:

This book touched on some social issues that some may not be comfortable with but Micalea works her writing magic so the issues are not offensive and make the reader comfortable reading about said issues.

Rape is hard to deal with be it male or female rape.  I've had several friends that have been raped and afterwards were not the same people they were before.  It's a struggle.  They ask how did it happen to them?  What did they do to deserve to be raped?  The answer to that question is absolutely nothing!  You didn't seek to be raped, you didn't ask for it no matter how you dressed or strutted your stuff.  Regardless the selfish act of rape destroys something good in the victim.

In Unraveling Katy lived a shell of a life.  She went to school, counseling, and hung out at home with her best friend Rollo, who's gay.  He does get her out to a club one night where she meets Jared.  She's amazed at the attraction she instantly feels with Jared and how a safe feeling wraps around her when he rescues her from a too touchy feely guy on the dance floor.  She runs into Jared again at the gym she decides to take a self-defense class and he askes her out.  Scared to death she turns him down but he's determined to get the girl who makes him feel again.

Both characters have haunting pasts for two individuals so young.  She's 19 and he's 24.  Jared is determined to help Katy find herself and be whole again to love.

I thought this was a beautiful story and I loved the way Jared was determined and conscious of each action he takes with Katy.  She's a scared kitten but he's not the big bad wolf.  I thought his actions were very thoughtful and gentlemanly.  It's hard for a girl not to fall for a guy so sweet.

I give this book a 5/5!  Great Job Micalea!

Music of the Heart by Katie Ashley

Music of the Heart (Runaway Train, #1)

Book Description:

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?
Book Review:

For weeks Katie teased her fans with quotes from this book. I looked forward to it coming out as it seemed like it was going to be a sweet sweet story. Guess what....that it is!

I tell you that Jake Slater is a piece of work. He has demons he has to deal with and is a total douche to Abby quite a few times. She has such a giving heart and is able to see right through his crap. I love a girl that sees through the bad boy exterior to the good inside.

Abby was raised by missionaries and won't take crap off anyone. She's sweet and innocent. Finding herself on the Runaway Train tour bus instead of her brother's Jacob's Ladder bus turns into a week long experience of ups and downs with Jake and the boys. She becomes Jake's lean to. He shows her so much emotion then shuts down when he doesn't think he can show her anymore.

It's a good thing her parents taught her forgiveness and perseverance because she definitely needs it with Jake.

The interesting question is will Jake keep Abby for himself or will he push her away completely?

Fantastic book! 5/5 stars

Battlescars: A Rock & Roll Romance by Sophie Monroe

Pinned Image

Book Description:

Aubrey Thompson is a twenty-three year old flight attendant for her dad’s small commercial fleet. She’s a sarcastic smartass that has no problem telling you where to go. She also despises rock stars…but that’s all part of the story. Her Granny Jean is spy and will have you laughing out loud.

In comes Jake Parker, the twenty-five year old lead singer of Battlescars. His reputation is the untamable bad-boy. He’s completely “balls to the wall” in everything that he does. Two days after returning home from a month long tour across Europe he gets a visit from Bruce, an executive from the record label. He informs Jake that Battlescars is going back on tour for three months. What everyone doesn’t know is that Jake is worn down and sick of the same old shit.

His record label hires Aubrey’s dads company to fly him around for the last minute tour. In order to keep her dad's company afloat they will have to learn to play nice. When Jake first meets Aubrey she refuses to even acknowledge his existence. He sees her as refreshing and a challenge.

Both of them have some pretty heavy scars from their pasts holding them back. Can Jake get Aubrey to let him in? Or will she shoot him down based on his outlandish reputation? Will her fear of getting hurt again keep him out for good?

Are the two of them a match in heaven or hell?

Book Review:

I LOVED this book. It is funny, heart thumping, and just plain hot! Sophie Monroe did a fantastic job with this book.

I usually don't highlight quotes from books that I read but there were several I did while reading this one. I'll be sharing them with you.

As you can tell from the description Aubrey helped her dad as a flight attendant on their private airline service. Her latest job is a 3 month tour with bad boy Jake Parker. Jake, having just come off tour and being told to go immediately back out without much time off, is ticked at his label and not looking forward to this new tour at all.

On the plane Jake meets Aubrey who has a feisty attitude and is intrigued that she's not screaming and carrying on that the famous Jake Parker is on her plane. Aubrey is trying to keep her distance as she has a past she doesn't want to relive with a rocker as famous as Jake.

Jake won't take no for an answer. They are seen in public that's when her past come back to haunt her. "The wounds we have reveal us.' she whispered."

As their relationship progresses Aubrey meets Ian Voss. A rocker who has it out to make Jake's career stumble. He makes some crude remarks to Aubrey and she slaps him. He calls her out on it as she replies: "I didn't slap you. I gave you a high five, and you missed."

One of life's lessons is shared in this book in a way I thought was awesome. Life lesson: "Life doesn't throw you more than you can handle. It likes to test though." How awesome is that?!

And on a final note... "no one can go through life without a scar or two." That's for sure!

Check Battlescars out! This is a 10/5 book!

The Hills Part by Amanda White

Book Description:

The Hills Party is the exciting and sexy first installment in the New Adult novella series "The Hollywood Twins" by contemporary romance author Amanda White.

Rachel and Hanna are identical twins, just out of college living the high life in Hollywood, California. Having the same stunningly beautiful appearance is as far as it goes when it comes to being identical. Their personality couldn't be further apart. Hanna is the fun-loving, outspoken "in your face" sister, working as a hip DJ, entertaining the Hollywood club crowd, while Rachel is more reserved, but has enough maturity to take care of both of them.

Being low on cash, Rachel and Hanna agree to entertain as DJ and bartender at a private party in Hollywood Hills. While working at the party, the shy Rachel meets the good looking young actor, Kyle Marwick. He takes a shine to the reserved twin, but she quickly finds that dating an upcoming moviestar is not without problems. Will love prevail or could jealousy divide the couple?

Book Review:

I always thought it would be great to be a twin.  Especially an identical twin.  Not so according to Rachel and Hanna.  Rachel is the dependent responsible twin and Hanna is the carefree worry free twin.  Rachel is concerned where their rent money for the next month is coming from.  Hanna is a dancing DJ and is asked for both girls to DJ a party for a Hollywood hot shot.

Hanna tries her best to seduce Kyle but he only has eyes for Rachel.  Rachel can't see why Kyle would be interested in her and not Hanna.  Rachel's not as comfortable in her skin as her sister.

Ok so all this being said...there were areas in the book I thought should be longer or better described and some parts could have just been deleted for me.  But overall if was a decent read. I gave it a 3/5 stars.  There are two other books, so far, in this series.  I have not yet read those.
